Communication:
The official language of Albania is, of course, Albanian. Most people in tourism will have a good handle on English as well as Greek and Italian.
Transportation:
Airplane: Air travel is not very common within Albania. Getting here from the US will require at least one, potentially two, connections.
Bus: Undoubtedly the most popular way to get around Albania. Buses are cheap and easy to find. My go-to website for this is Bookaway.
Taxi/Uber: Taxi are cheap and not too difficult to find. Make sure cabbies run their meter (if they have one). If not, be sure to agree on a price beforehand.
Miscellaneous:
I knew Albania was beautiful from pictures I’d seen online, but I had no idea just how gorgeous their beaches and mountains were. If you’re outdoorsy, you need to add Albania (and the Balkans as a whole) to your bucket list!
