ANDORRA LA VELLA, ANDORRA

When it comes to the height of European capital cities, Andorra la Vella is at the top (literally)! At 1,023 meters (3,356 feet) high, Andorra la Vella is the highest capital in all of Europe! 10,000 of the country’s 77,000 residents call this city home and they think it’s more than just a day trip!

Attractions:

  • Casa de la Vall: You’ll get a great view of the city and mountains up here! One of the main attractions in town.

  • 7 Poetes: You can’t miss the seven sculptures of men sitting on pedestals in town. These represent the seven continents and the seven parishes of Andorra.

  • Parc Central: Nice, quaint park in the center of the city, which is surrounded by mountains.

  • Església de Sant Esteve: Built in the 12th century, this is one of three churches in Andorra la Vella. It gets my vote for prettiest!

  • Other things to check out include: Lake Engolasters, Vallnord, The Nobility of Time Monument, and Puente de Paris!

Accommodation:

  • I don’t believe there are any hostels in Andorra la Vella but there is a hostel (Mountain Hostel) 20 minutes east in El Tarter!
