DA LAT, VIETNAM
Da Lat is a small, touristy town in southeastern Vietnam known for its canyoning tour and Crazy House. Coined by locals as the “City of Eternal Spring”, Da Lat’s temperature is nearly always between 60°-70° F (15°-19° C). Although it’s not one of the flashiest places to visit in Vietnam, you’ll find the slower pace and lovely nature worth your visit!
Attractions:
Canyoning Tour: This is Da Lat’s main attraction. On this tour, you can safely jump off of cliffs, rappel down waterfalls (via harnesses), and descend down natural water slides. At 850,000 VND (or $38 USD), it was an incredible and beautiful way to venture into Vietnam’s Central Highlands! I highly recommend!
Crazy House: Picture walking through a maze inside one of the houses in Alice in Wonderland. With its unique architecture and structures, the Crazy House is highly entertaining and is a nice place to wander through!
100 Roof Bar: This is essentially the Crazy House except in the form of a bar. It is super interesting and one of the strangest watering holes you’ll ever walk through!
Other attractions include: Da Lat Flower Park, Elephant Falls, Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Thien Vien Truc Lam, Tuyen Lam Lake, and Datanla Falls.
Accommodation:
Mr. Peace Backpacker’s Hostel: The second you walk in, you’re greeted by the owner who gives you a big hug. They have a community dinner most nights and a rooftop bar where guests can hang out at night.
Transportation:
Ho Chi Minh City is 8 hours by bus from Da Lat and costs 336,000 VND.
Da Nang is 18 hours by bus from Da Lat and costs 460,000 VND.
